Behaviour Discussion Group

The Behaviour Discussion Group (BDG) is an informal network of researchers in St Andrews who are interested in animal behaviour. Members of the Group, which includes members of the Centre and also other staff and students from the School of Biology and School of Psychology & Neuroscience, meet once per fortnight for an pot-luck dinner and a research talk, by either a group member or a visiting scholar. The BDG evenings provide a great opportunity to chat about research in an informal setting and to present preliminary research or new ideas.

The BDG was established over 20 years ago by Andy Whiten and Peter Slater, at a time when only a handful of researchers in St Andrews studied animal behaviour. The numbers have grown dramatically since then, and over 40 people are now included on the BDG email list.
