Welcome to the shark behavioral and physiological website at the University of St Andrews. We investigate the spatial ecology of sharks and other marine vertebrates and determine how behavior (e.g. feeding) and physiology (e.g. digestion) drive observed patterns of movement and habitat selection. We use a variety of tools including telemetry, bio-logging, and stable isotopes. We are also interested in the ecology of mesophotic reefs (reefs deeper than 50 m) and the application of technical diving to marine ecology.
