The Master in Science by Research, or MSc(Res), is a one year research degree that the School of Biology is now offering, as outlined here: https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/study/pg/research-degrees/.
The School of Biology is a highly research active School, with a diverse and vigorous postgraduate community. The School comprises a large number of research groups organised into three interdisciplinary Research Centres:
- The Scottish Oceans Institute (SOI)
- Biomedical Sciences Research Complex (BSRC)
- Centre for Biological Diversity (CBD)
Our postgraduate students enjoy a supportive and welcoming environment: for instance, the student-run ‘Bionet’ society provides a wide range of networking and social opportunities.
